What are the steps to becoming a licensed real estate agent in Georgia? You must first complete a Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) approved 75-hour Pre-License Course, and pass the final course exam. You have two opportunities to pass the final course exam. GREC approves Atlanta Partners Real Estate School to teach this course. We offer instructor-led courses in-person and online, as well as online self-paced courses. Once you have passed the course exam, you are eligible to take the Georgia State Exam. You may pay for and take the Georgia State Exam as many times as needed to pass.
What are the requirements to obtain a real estate license? To obtain a real estate license, you must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and complete the required pre-licensing education. You must also complete a background check and lawful presence affidavit.
Is there a course final exam? Both the instructor-led and online self-paced pre-license courses require a proctored course final exam. Students must receive a grade of 72% or higher to pass the Pre-License course final exam. GREC allows students two attempts to pass the course final exam. If a student does not pass the course final exam on the retake, the student must repeat the entire course. GREC does not allow students to review exams once they have been turned in.
What are you required to bring to the proctored Georgia State Exam? A photo ID is required along with a pencil and a simple calculator. Cell phones may not be used as a calculator during the exam. Cell phones are not permitted in the room when taking the course final exam.
What is the fee for the Georgia State salesperson exam? The fee for the state salesperson exam is $119. Students are allotted four hours to answer 152 multiple-choice questions. A passing score for the salesperson exam is 72% (110/152) or higher.
Where can I take the state exam? The state exam is administered by PSI. There are multiple locations in the state of Georgia to take the state exam: Atlanta, Decatur, Duluth, Fayetteville, Lilburn, Macon, Marietta, and Savannah. Visit www.goamp.com for more information on their testing facilities.
What is the fee to activate my real estate salesperson license? The fee to activate your license is $170. The fee to renew a license every four years is $125. You will receive a $25 discount if the renewal fee is paid online.
What are the continuing education requirements for a Georgia Real Estate Salesperson License? Within the first year, all new licensees are required to complete an approved 25-hour Post-License Course. Atlanta Partners Real Estate School offers instructor-led in-person and virtual Post-License Courses, as well as online self-paced Post-License Courses. The Post-License course also counts for 9 hours of continuing education credit if the course is completed before the renewal date. All licensees must complete 36 hours of continuing education hours every four years. The completed 36 hours of continuing education must include a license law course. Atlanta Partners Real Estate School offers instructor-led in-person and virtual Post-License Courses, as well as online self-paced continuing education courses.
Does the State of Georgia offer Reciprocity Licensure? Georgia offers reciprocity to licensees from all 50 states. If you have a license in good standing in another state and obtained your license by passing a state exam, you are not required to take an exam. There is one exception Florida resident licensees must pass the state portion of the Georgia State Exam.
